I'm a design engineer. I do the research, design the interface, and then write the code that ships it — which means the thing that reaches production is the thing that was designed, not an approximation of it.
That started in enterprise UX at Consumers Energy and Little Caesars, where I learned how much design intent gets lost at the handoff. Now I close that gap myself: production React, TypeScript, and Next.js on the front, and increasingly the AI tooling underneath it — Model Context Protocol servers, Claude agent workflows, and automation that keeps running after I close the laptop. My Michigan MSI is in information and UX research; the engineering is what I taught myself so the research would survive contact with a codebase.
Outside of work, I'm usually diving into sci-fi worldbuilding, working on woodworking projects, or exploring new design systems and coding techniques. I'm always pushing to learn, iterate, and build digital products that make everyday tasks easier and more enjoyable.
